"Long" John Silver is a hard man, with a wit honed to a razor's edge by a life both generous and cruel in equal measure. He has the voice of a showman, the charm of a snake oil salesman, and the heart of an honest man. (For certain values of the word 'honest'.) He's a man of the sea, of the shanty and the lash, of the rigging and the salt spray. He wears the evidence of his travels on his body for all to see, from the bold, tattooed line of arcane script running down the left side of his face, to the ivory crutch he needs to walk. He stoutly refuses to wear a peg for his lost leg, which would be a challenge for a man whose leg ends mid-thigh.

He also keeps a Scarlet Macaw who rides on his shoulder, and she does bite. Mind your fingers.
